The 7th edition of the Prog Résiste Convention will be held in the Spirit Of 66 in Verviers, Belgium in the weekend of 18 and 19 October, 2008. As always the two-day festival will feature a couple of newcomers and some better known names, with Gazpacho headlining the first night, and Pure Reason Revolution headlining the second.

Will be releasing their 'early years' compilation Downfall as a double album on September 15th 2008.

The album will be a complete collection of all the Gathering's early recordings. All promo's, [unreleased] e.p, demo's, rehearsal tapes, the band recorded before and just after their legendary debut Always.... Now finally collected, restored and mastered. This gigantic double CD contains in total 27 songs with a total playing time of over 140 minutes. Together with several live recordings this album contains all material from the Gathering's early days, 1989 - 1993. Mastered and restored by Mike Wead [King Diamond / Mercyful Fate]. Contains further more extensive liner notes and rare old pictures and 7 never before released tracks.

-- YES Cancels 40th Anniversary Tour --

NEW YORK, NY, JUNE 4, 2008 -– Legendary rock band Yes announced today that the group will unfortunately be canceling their 2008 40th Anniversary Tour. The 26-city tour was scheduled to kick off in Quebec next month and run through the summer.

Said Jon Anderson, “In the wake of my recent respiratory attack, doctors have advised me to spend the coming months resting and recovering. Unfortunately, this means I won't be able to tour with Yes this summer as originally planned. I'd like everyone to know how deeply disappointed I am by this turn of events. I was looking forward to celebrating our music with the amazing family of Yes fans once again; but as we all know, health must come before anything else. Wishing you all the very best...”

Said Chris Squire, “We were all looking forward to performing for our fans after a prolonged leave of absence from touring. I am especially regretful of the fact that I know many of our fans and friends have probably laid out non-refundable airfares and hotels, etc. in order to enjoy the Yes shows this summer. Please join me in wishing Jon a speedy return to health, which at this point in time is our main concern.”

Yes frontman and founding member Jon Anderson was admitted to the hospital last month after suffering a severe asthma attack. He has now been diagnosed with acute respiratory failure and was told by doctors this weekend that he needs to rest and not work for a period of at least six months or suffer further health complications. Upon receiving this news the band has determined that their tour plans need to be put on hold.

-- No Man --

No-Man (the duo of Tim Bowness and Porcupine Tree's Steven Wilson) will be performing their first full concert since 1993 at the Bush Hall, London, on August 29th (Doors open, 7.30-8pm).

The gig will be filmed for possible DVD release and there are plans (as yet unconfirmed) for a European mini-tour to follow in December, 2008.

-- Preview of the first Decapitated DVD! --

Decapitated - this Polish death metal band was formed in 1996 when the average age of the band members was just 14. Many people focused on Decapitated's age as a reason to doubt them - the fact was that the band were already becoming an established live act throughout Poland, and in working so hard on the road had earned themselves a cult reputation as genuine contenders rather than simple novelties. Their first album entitled “Winds Of Creation”, recorded for Earache subsidiary Wicked World, was produced by Vader’s Piotr Wiwczarek. Released in April 2000, the record immediately struck the world-wide attention of death metal fans and the band began to be hailed as potential big league players. They’ve released 4 studio albums so far (“Winds Of Creation” 2000, “Nihility” 2002, “The Negation” 2004, “Organic Hallucinosis” 2006). The band’s early demos were released by Metal Mind Productions on a CD entitled “The First Damned”.

Today Decapitated return with their first official DVD release. “Human’s Dust” will be released by Metal Mind Productions on 9th June in Europe and 10th June in USA. DVD will be available in two versions: as a standard DVD and as a very unique star metalpack DVD edition limited to 3000 copies!

The main feature of the DVD consists of the band’s gig in Krakow (October 2002), which was a part of their European tour along with Vader and Krisiun. Bonus materials include two live performances recorded during Ozzfest in Poland (May 2002) and Metalmania Festival(March 2004), a video clip "Winds of Creation" plus three interviews recorded at various locations: Kraków, 2002 (Vitek and Vogg), Ozzfest in Katowice, 2002 (Vogg and Sauron), Metalmania in Katowice, 2004 (Sauron and Martin).
